India is a country of sub-continental dimension representing one of the oldest civilizations of the world and among the largest and richest traditions of Fine arts. It is the most valuable intangible resource, which brings together cultures from across the world beyond countries, language and religion. Fine arts constitute an important part of the country’s 5,000-year-old cultural and spiritual legacy.
The wealth of fine arts in India is fast depleting. A change is needed that recognizes that art can create capital, livelihood and is essential for individual growth. As a result, many educational institutes and universities in India are now including courses in the field of fine arts to their curriculum. Students can specialize in various courses in fine arts and take up career in it.
The Khetri Trust Scholarship for Fine Arts, 2017-18 is based on the vision of its founder, Raja Bahadur Sardar Singh, “The promotion of education, that is to say the advancement of the study of science, literature and the arts, by the grant of scholarships to deserving students for study in India or abroad, by the establishment of libraries, reading rooms, schools, academies, laboratories, research centers or other institutions, as funds allow and as the Trustees think fitâ€.
Keeping in mind the vision of our founder, The Khetri Trust Scholarship for Fine Arts, 2017-18 is designed to promote promising talent to take up higher education/advanced training in his/her chosen field of Fine Art in India which will help them achieve good carrier opportunities in future.
